Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west. You are a qualified Registered Nurse with the ability to provide leadership, precept staff, and contribute to professional nursing practice, ability to deliver a high-quality service with the primary focus on achievement of organisational goals for the good of others and knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues at both the broad and specific level, with reference to workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Anti-discrimination.
Your opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse is required to deliver direct nursing care at an advanced level, within a specific area of expertise whilst providing support and education to other team members in this unit. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for a specific client population while providing support and direction to Registered Nurses and other non-registered nursing personnel. The Emergency Department promotes a high flow, high level of assessment model of care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Your role:
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant's to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate patient care activities at an advanced practitioner level within the specified clinical setting and promote patient flow in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Practice collaboratively and provide clinical leadership within the interdisciplinary health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
- Accountable for planning, provision and communication of nursing/midwifery practice including the evaluation and required revision of practice, and for staff and client safety across a shift.
