About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide expert clinical knowledge and clinical care for consumers with a variety of conditions and support the general function of the service through role modelling and application of the principles of contemporary evidence based consumer focused care, education, leadership and portfolio management. In addition, this role will provide support and direction to Registered Nurses and other non-registered nursing personnel in more complex situations.
The Clozapine Coordinator is a dedicated nursing role that coordinates and manages the clozapine protocols for MNMH-RBWH focussed on supporting all clinical staff in the evidence based interventions and monitoring requirements for the client population prescribed Clozapine aligned to the model of service. The Clinical Nurse in this role is able to autonomously function with this identified client population who are at high risk for suboptimal physical health outcomes related to current mental health treatment. This role supports other clinicians to implement essential Clozapine monitoring and will participate in activity as part of the clozapine care coordination model.
About you
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of employment.
