Seeking an enthusiastic senior registered nurse who demonstrates excellent communication skills, exhibits ethical and professional responsibility, and is keen to further develop clinical and research skills in an exciting and innovative work environment of secure extended care mental Health rehabilitation services (AMHRU).
This full-time permanent position provides the opportunity to implement your expert knowledge and skills in providing recovery orientated care within a secure residential mental health setting. The role is supported by a well-established multdisplinary team and offers the opportunity to work with consumers, families and carers. In addition to this, the position enables you to extend your leadership skills and provide supervision and reflective practice sessions to the nursing workforce and through opportunities further your own learning and participation in team and departmental activities.
To be Successful in this Role, you will have:
- Skills and experience working with consumers with mental illness and their family and carers, including skills in assessment, crisis intervention, counselling, relapse prevention and recovery focussed principles to support the delivery of recovery orientated and trauma informed service
- demonstrated clinical leadership and set the clinical nursing standards in delivering high quality care
- Deliver contemporary best care practice for consumers, their families and their carers, helping them to achieve optimal mental health outcomes
- Provide expert mental health and nursing consultation to the multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with the NUM to address priority issues on the rehabilitation unit which are related to vulnerable and high-risk consumers presenting with complex needs.
