About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Infection Prevention and Control. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educator and wider facility and Bayside health care teams to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Infection Prevention and Control.
• Responsible for clinical leadership for Infection Control services through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
• Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within Infection Control area.
• Responsible for the content expertise for infection prevention and control specialty to provide the highest standards of safe quality care and clinical nursing practice to meet the requirements for person centred care.
