Mater is looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health Team! This permanent, full-time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.
Salary range: $59.87- $67.21 per hour + generous not-for-profit salary packaging + access to many staff benefits! an increase on 1 July 2024.
What you’ll be doing
The role of the CNC within Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health is to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, working closely with psychiatry, medical staff, allied health professionals, and other team members and providing clinical leadership and expertise at an advanced practice level to ensure patients of the service receive patient centred and evidence-based care.
The role will provide clinical consultancy within the specialty of intellectual and developmental disability and across the age spectrum; developing standards of practice; implementing change to clinical practice; educating health professionals and initiating research and quality improvement activities with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of those with IDD.
About you
You will have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
- Minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience in nursing preferably in IDD with experience managing junior nursing staff.
- Employees are required to undertake a National Criminal Record Check and a Working with Children Check prior to commencing employment.
- A current, full drivers licence which is appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven, and comply with any restrictions on their licence (e.g. wearing glasses) while undertaking hospital duties (If applicable)
- Post graduate qualification or working towards
- Interest/experience in mental health and IDD nursing as a key element.
- Outpatient/community or outreach experience with a willingness and ability to travel statewide as required.
