Division of Surgery, Metro South Health are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their Stomal Therapy and Would Management team. Stomal Therapy is a specialised unit that provides expert clinical care on a consultancy basis for complex wounds and stoma care throughout the hospital. The department provides a patient and ambulatory care service with Preadmission clinic for colorectal and urology surgical patients requiring counselling. The unit works within a diverse multidisciplinary team to deliver best outcomes for the patients. The Stomal Therapy team act as a resource for pressure injury prevention and management.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Stomal TherapyWound Management. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educators and wider multidisciplinary health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Stomal Therapy and Wound Care.
Continual collaboration with Colorectal CNC to ensure seamless care delivery for Colorectal patients.
- Responsible for clinical leadership for the Stomal Therapy and Wound Managementservices through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
- Coordinate mentoring, preceptorship, role modelling and promote the value of nursing within the multidisciplinary team inthe Stomal Therapy and Wound Management.
- Provide clinical supervision, coaching, mentoring and formal education by coordinating with units and contributing to other educational programs as required.
