An exciting opportunity exists for a proactive and flexible Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Education team within the Scrub Scout Unit at a private hospital in Sydney. This is a permanent Full-Time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will coordinate all educational and quality activities within the scrub scout unit. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and organising training for all staff, including New Graduate Registered Nurses and Diploma of Nursing EN students and supervising undergraduate nursing students. Overall, the educator role provides a unique opportunity to provide clinical and professional support to the Nurse Unit Manager, nursing staff, visiting students and doctors within the Scrub/Scout Operating Team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Current AHPRA registration;
Minimum 5 years experience in Scrub/Scout nursing;
Demonstrated presentation and teaching skills in individual, small and large group settings;
Previous experience in educational and quality activities;
Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision;
Positive attitude towards learning and professional development;
Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills;
Previous policy & competency writing experience (desirable);
Postgraduate certificate in relevant area (desirable);
Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116) (desirable);

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern facility with 12 Operating Theatres and two Cardiac Cath labs. The hospital performs a full range of elective surgeries, including cardiac, neurosurgery, urology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, colorectal, general, plastics, obstetrics, Paediatric, ENT, and Spinal Surgery. The maternity unit comprises a 7-bed birth suite, a 46-bed antenatal/ postnatal ward and a 14-bed special care nursery.
