About the role:
The applicant will work to develop, counsel and coach future and current clinical nurses. It is the role of the applicant to impart their skills and knowledge to fellow nursing staffs with the goal to enhance their clinical practices and skills. It is the duty of the clinical nurse educator to access, develop and evaluate clinical education both in a classroom and clinical setting.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Coordination and collaboration with fellow clinical professionals to create and recommend educational programmes.
- Enhance the current curriculum depending on contemporary needs.
- Develop policies, procedures and guidelines and keep and eye on its implementation and development.
- Mentor clinical nurses on necessary clinical practices and analyse their growth.
- Conducting thorough research work and look for ways and opportunities to develop educational activities.
- Accessing and evaluating documents of educational outcomes.
- Create quality educational curriculum for the nursing staffs to follow.
Requirement:
- Post graduate qualification in critical care.
- Demonstrate the skills to educate staff in desirable settings. (Formal/Informal)
- Demonstrate skills to work as a team and with a team of nursing staff and deliver independently if need be.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant registration with Nursing and Midwifery board via AHPRA.
- Relevant skills to use clinical tools and software including basics of all Microsoft programmes.
- ALS accessor qualification.
- Certificate IV in training and assessment (desirable).
Mandatory requirements:
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid and Flu.
- Must provide national police check report.
- Must provide reports on proof of immunisation against infectious diseases as may require working with children.
