This role presents an exciting opportunity to join our teaching team as a Clinical Nurse Educator at Western Clinical School, teaching across sites at Western Health. As part of this learning environment, there will be opportunities to facilitate and guide students through a range of procedural skills, including basic life support, and educational simulation programs for MD medical students. Reporting directly to the Clinical Dean and Senior Clinical Nurse Educator, you'll collaborate closely with other experienced clinical educators, to provide an integrated team approach dedicated to advancing medical education.Your responsibilities will include:
- Instructing students in procedural skills, resuscitation, and simulation.
- Facilitating educational classes in accordance with the University of Melbourne MD curriculum.
- Providing formative feedback and summative assessment to students.
- Collaborating with educators and clinical staff to enhance teaching quality and effectiveness.
You engage students with varied teaching styles, fostering innovation and initiative. You have experience in building rapport with medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You possess strong organisational abilities, ensuring efficient management of teaching responsibilities.You will also have:
- Registered Nurse Division 1, registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority
- Specialist qualification in a field of Emergency or Critical Care Nursing and extensive clinical experience
- Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support qualification
- Familiarity with the functioning of The University, hospitals, and the primary care system at all levels
- Experience in teaching procedural and resuscitation skills in the acute hospital environment
