Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Manager to join our Paediatrics Team in the beautiful Great Southern Region of Western Australia!

This position is located at the Albany Health Campus. Albany is the largest city of the Great Southern Region of Western Australia, located 418 km from Perth. Within a few minutes’ drive from the Albany Health Campus, you will find stunning wineries, great restaurants, world class swimming and surfing beaches, mountain bike trails, hiking trails and one of the most beautiful coastlines Australia has to offer!

The Great Southern regional health service is part of WA Country Health Service (WACHS), is the largest country health system in Australia, and one of the biggest health systems in the world. WACHS provides health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

About the OPPORTUNITY

In this role you will be responsible for the provision of high quality and consumer focused nursing using a wide range of nursing skills to care for a variety of patients as part of a supportive and passionate multidisciplinary team.

A rewarding and interesting role where you will:

  • Collaborate with the Paediatric Head of Department to optimise delivery of family centred services in close liaison with Mental Health, Child Development, Population Health, Emergency Department, and inpatient teams as well as community providers and General Practitioners.
  • Provide a high level of leadership of the multidisciplinary Integrated Paediatric Service to effectively plan, manage, and evaluate services to achieve organisational goals.
  • Ensure the service unit operates within National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards guidelines and appropriate clinical governance is practiced by staff and activities are planned, developed, implemented, and evaluated at unit level.
