The Clinical Nurse works over a 7 day roster and undertakes clinical care coordination as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Specialist Community Mental Health Service. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including Mental Health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Team Manager and Nurse Consultant, duties for the role may include:
- Providing proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care and/or individual case management to clients in the acute stream of the community Mental Health team
- Assisting and supporting the Team Manager and Nurse Consultant in management, clinical, and education activities
- Conducting Rapid Response and urgent community based Mental Health assessments
- Participating in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
- Participation in quality improvement within the team/service

About you:
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution
- Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
- Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses
