Job Description
These roles provide timely Drug and Alcohol services as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team primarily to the consumers of the general hospital that may have significant alcohol or other drug issues as their primary presenting problem or as a co-morbid health issue. There is a strong focus on harm minimisation and patient education strategies.
Provides advice and support to generalist medical/surgical, nursing and allied health clinicians /teams regarding management of symptoms and behaviours associated with acute intoxication, dependence or withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs.
Provides clinical nursing interventions consistent with scope of practice that are recovery oriented, trauma informed and in collaboration with the consumer and carer.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built Mental Health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
