This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time vacancies. 

About the role

The Clinical Nurse provides specialised nursing interventions, clinical assessments, triage/duty, case management and referral for clients attending Integrated Services.

In undertaking the role of this position, the occupant will need to recognise that there is a commitment to focussing on the needs of the individual, their families, carers or advocates working in partnership for better alcohol and/or other drug and mental health outcomes.

The successful applicant will work across other Next Step Community Alcohol and Drug Service locations when required.

About us

Next Step is the leading government drug and alcohol treatment service in Western Australia providing a range of clinical services. The treatment services provided by Next Step include:

  • Outpatient services at East Perth and via integrated Community Alcohol and Drug Services at six metropolitan locations
  • The Inpatient Withdrawal Unit at East Perth
  • An onsite pharmacy service based at East Perth
  • Outpatient and inpatient youth services via the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth Service
  • Community programs including the Community Pharmacotherapy Program and the Clinical Advisory Service

Next Step strives to be a culturally secure and inclusive service that is respectful of the diverse needs of each individual.

Next Step Services will be transitioned into the Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG) Hospital Logistics and Acute Access Division (HoLAA) within the East Metropolitan Health Service.

About you

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurses to join this highly specialised service that embraces a multidisciplinary approach to its care.

You will be:

  • Passionate about working in drug and alcohol treatment services
  • Able to understand and act within key boundaries and maintain a professional relationship with clients
  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of learning within challenging environments
  • Experienced in working with clients with challenging and complex presentations
  • Enthusiastic for working in a multidisciplinary environment
