Clinical Nurse Specialist - Community Mental Health


This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time appointments. 

An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Mental Health team in Exmouth– Midwest. 

To be successful, you will have...

  • Extensive and recent experience working in in Community Mental Health Services.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mental Health disorders and experience in provision of evidence based treatments in community settings.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients from a variety of cultural and ethnic groups.
  • Applicants require a working knowledge of current Mental Health legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other health professionals with a multidisciplinary team.

Position Profile:

Provides specialised Mental Health Services for people with mental disorder in the Central West region, based on nursing best practice, including assessment, crisis care and intervention. Works as part of the regional Mental Health team.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
