About the Role
Following a recent review and restructure, an exciting opportunity has become available to complement our existing Hospital Access Team. In this role you will be the afterhours clinical lead support to all clinical areas. You will be responsible for clinical problem solving and supporting the multi-disciplinary teams in the afterhours period. The successful candidate will be the senior Clinical Nurse on duty and will utilise your vast knowledge and clinical expertise in patient care. With sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you will excel in the clinical setting.
We are looking for CNS who thrive by responding to challenges, working within a multidisciplinary team and will be committed to upholding and promoting the Ramsay Way core values.
You will also play a pivotal role in educating your colleagues through department orientations and competency programs. Plus, you will make valuable contributions to the hospital’s continuous improvement processes as well as build and maintain strong relationships with our doctors, patients and key stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring the below criteria:
Relevant registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Minimum of five years post registration experience in acute care setting.
- Working with Children Check
- Advanced Life support 1
- Male catheter Competent
- Venepuncture and Cannulation competent
- Proven ability to work effectively in team environment and independently as required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and manage patient flow and bed allocation.
- Proven ability to prioritise daily work load according to organisational need
- Strong situational awareness and proven solid communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure
Desirable
- Possession of or significant progression towards the attainment of a post graduate qualification in an area of specialty.
- Recent experience working in critical care environment.
