Job description

This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 40 hours per fortnight.

We are currently seeking highly experienced and qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for the Mental Health Liaison deparmtent at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), in partnership with the Nurse Director, is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care within their speciality. The CNS delivers quality patient care across Fiona Stanley Hospital, through developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities. The CNS is responsible for the provision of a consultation service within their area of expertise assigned to consumers within the Hospital.

As a senior nurse the CNS has professional accountability to the Nurse Director Mental Health and Director of Nursing and Midwifery and provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses and contributes to the advancement of the profession, in keeping with the vision and values for Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Nursing Group.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built Mental Health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, Mental Health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
