About the Role
The successful applicant will be supported to use their knowledge and training to provide consultative care to inpatients with substance use problems to maximise the health outcomes for each individual client/patient. You will do this by assisting and supporting fellow hospital colleagues with your clinical skills and service delivery knowledge to ensure:

  • Clients can achieve tailored clinical outcomes and, 
  • That clients are provided adequate education around pathways to care – not only whilst they are an inpatient, but also after discharge.

You will be supported by your Line Manager, DACS Clinical Nurse Consultant and the multidisciplinary DACS team. You will be provided with support for tailored education and training, including post graduate qualifications.

Where you'll be working

This position is located in Taree on the Lower Mid North Coast. You will be working alongside a specialist AOD Clinical Nurse Consultant and other multidisciplinary members of the Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) team who are as equally invested in the wellbeing of the clients/patients. Located on the banks of the sparkling Manning River, Taree is known for its picturesque environment with national parks, waterfalls and the Barrington Coast within easy reach, making this position the perfect solution for an outdoor adventurist looking for a new opportunity – both in career and lifestyle. 

About You

To be suitable for this position, you must be compassionate and approachable with a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience. Your attention to detail will assist in ensuring care is individualised to suit patient’s needs, and your ability to remain professional will ensure the Code of Conduct is always followed. You must be capable of taking responsibility, have exceptional people skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
