What you'll be doing:
The CNS2 is a Registered Nurse who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience, and skills in providing complex nursing care with minimum direct supervision.
Working collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Consultant Continence, the CNS2 Urology/Continence will provide high level clinical knowledge and expertise and skills in the provision of high quality safe and effective client centred secondary level nursing support service across the Local Health District to community clients who have urological and/or continence care needs.
This will include:
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care using evidence based best practice guidelines underpinned by the principles of Primary Health Care as part of a collaborative partnership with the client, their family(ies)/carer(s) and other key stakeholders (including the client's GP and treating specialist).
- Support, advice and education to Community Nurses, other Health Professionals (Allied Health, GPs) and clients and their carers assisting them in the provision of care.
- Development and implementation of strategies to prevent people with urological/continence presenting to hospital
- Supporting the implementation and evaluation of a clinical pathway for clients with urological/continence issues

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel (this may include driving long distances across the LHD).
- A minimum of three (3) years full time equivalent post registration experience in a specialty area of practice related to the management of clients with Urology/Continence issues and a related recognised postgraduate clinical qualification (Graduate Certificate level or equivalent).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and contemporary knowledge of evidence-based Urology/continence Care Nursing practice and the ability to implement those within clinical practice utilising their clinical expertise.
- Commitment to champion, educate and lead an interdisciplinary team to improve clients’ outcomes as part of a team.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities according to best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers and a diverse range of health care providers.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision maintaining involvement within the wider interdisciplinary team.
