We are seeking dynamic and passionate clinicians or MST Practitioners, to join our MST team in the North West.

You don’t need to be a current MST Practitioner to apply! We will provide ongoing training and intensive supervision to help upskill you to practice from this highly evidence-based framework. In fact, ongoing learning and development are key attributes of a what makes a great MST Practitioner.

An MST Practitioners is driven, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and has the skills to deliver evidence-based treatment to young people with complex presentations and their families. With ongoing access to training and support, and weekly supervision as a core aspect of MST, working in a small team you will share CAMHS’s vision of providing quality, accessible, consumer-centred mental health care to some of Tasmania’ s most vulnerable young people.

The Role:

• Deliver highly specialised clinical interventions to improve young people’s lives, including remaining at home and in the community by addressing the correlates of behaviour.
• Work intensively with a small caseload of young people with complex needs, working primarily to empower their families and caregivers.
• Adhere to the MST model, establishing strong engagement with families and other key supports in the family, school, and community.
• Conduct assessments with young people and the systems that impact them, including family, peers, school, and community, to identify risks and strengths and develop therapeutic interventions.

Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) positions working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum + 11% superannuation

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service Agreement) 2019

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
• A Multi-disciplinary Allowance may be applicable

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that leads to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
2. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration
3. Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

1. Postgraduate qualification in Nursing or related field or working towards a postgraduate qualification in a related discipline.
2. Experience in therapeutic approaches consistent with MST including cognitive and behavioural therapy, family system treatment and ecological approaches including cognitive and behavioural therapy, family system treatment and ecological approaches.
3. Experience/expertise in child and adolescent mental health and/or Child Development.
4. Knowledge of contemporary juvenile and criminal justice issues.
5. Experience implementing evidence-based programs.

Positions Features:

• Highly mobile, non-clinic based, with flexible hours of operation.
• Participation in an on-call roster is a requirement.
• Some intrastate travel is required.
