A new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team in a Permanent Full-Time opportunity at a private hospital in Southern Sydney.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This opportunity will see you facilitate the smooth operation of the department with a can-do attitude and strong customer service focus, additional responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with staff, offering expert guidance and mentoring with an emphasis on safety, opportunity, education, and standards;
- Coordination of care and services interdepartmentally between, DSU, Theatre, CSSD and Recovery;
- Facilitating all elective and emergency procedures after hours within the Orthopaedic Department.
This opportunity will require exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are all of critical importance for this role.
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Extensive clinical skills and experience within the orthopaedic speciality;
- Proven experience as a senior member of the perioperative team (ANUM / CNS);
- Demonstrated management, mentoring, and decision-making skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Effective time management skills;
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required;
- Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a continuous improvement program;
- Proven innovative practices and ability to apply research findings to clinical practice.
- Post-graduate studies in the relevant speciality area;
- Previous experience in policy development;
- Sound Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs including Excel.

The state-of-the-art Day Surgery is a self-sufficient unit providing care to patients from admission through to discharge. The unit provides a full range of endoscopic services, including; upper GI, endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic laser palliation of cancer, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube insertion, insertion of oesophageal prostheses for palliation of oesophageal cancer and liver biopsy.
