Visit us .About Your RoleThe primary purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 – Violence, Abuse and Neglect (CNS – VAN) role is to provide medical and forensic responses and health care (within scope of practice) to people who have experienced violence, Abuse and Neglect.This includes providing integrated crisis responses, non-acute clinical care, case coordination, follow up medical care and health care navigation.The CNS – VAN will either be qualified as or eligible to become a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. They will:
- be registered as a nurse with the Nurses and Midwifery Board
- have a minimum three years of clinical nursing experience in a relevant clinical specialty such as sexual health or women’s health.
- have obtained, be working towards, or be enrolled within 6 months of commencing the role, the Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV) Graduate Certificate in Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault (or equivalent).
