About the Role
The Clinical Pharmacist Sterile Manufacturing and Acute Ambulatory Unit Grade 3 is a clinical and operational leadership role.
You will provide a comprehensive and advanced clinical pharmacy services with partnered pharmacist medication charting to St Vincent's Hospital Acute Ambulatory Unit (Day Infusion Centre).
You will be responsible for the effective, efficient and safe provision of sterile manufacturing services.
This role includes clinical pharmacy, operational pharmacy, management, mentoring and training. It includes supervision and training of pharmacists rotating through sterile manufacturing and AAU.
This role will be a clinical leader in manufacturing pharmacy and work as an integral part of the AAU and associated teams.
- Sterile Manufacturing Lead including day to day management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and strategic development.
- Acute Ambulatory Unit Lead including day to day management, key contact for units and guideline and protocol development.
- Management, supervision and training of staff working in sterile and AAU
- Governance including meeting standards, developing policies, procedures and guidelines and routine auditing
- Research, quality improvement, quality assurance and quality use of medicines.
Classifications for this position will range from classification range SX6 - SX81 ($106,688 - $121,477 per annum).
Your Contribution
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with AHPRA pharmacist registration
- Broad range of experience (minimum of 5 years) in hospital pharmacy.
- Extensive sterile pharmacy experience
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement process, leadership, service development and ongoing change
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Pharmacy
St Vincent's Hospital Pharmacy service provides high quality pharmacy service to St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, St George's Hospital, Caritas Christi Hospice and correctional facilities managed by St Vincent's Hospital. Pharmacy services are decentralised and are provided from several satellite pharmacist located on wards and in treatment areas.
