Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.

About The Role

The Clinical Practice Advisor's role is responsible for building capacity for Scope Operations and Service Delivery teams to support the safe and effective provision of disability related health care supports to Scope SIL clients. Each Registered Nurse will be responsible for supporting an allocated group of SIL homes across metropolitan and regional Victoria. 

Supporting our frontline staff and senior leaders, this 12 month fixed term opportunity will:

  • Build effective working relationships to support the safe and effective provision of disability related health support (DRHS) and high intensity supports (HIS) to Scope clients.
  • Support standardising and streamlining of client documentation to understand and deliver client disability related health support and high intensity support needs 

  • Provide Clinical Practice assessment, advice, coaching, resources and training to front line workforce to safely and effectively support clients with their DRHS and HIS requirements
  • Ensure all tools, resources, services and training are compliant with Scope policies, procedures, NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators and all relevant legislation 

  • Facilitate the person-centred active support model to ensure client goals aspirations, choices and independence are optimised in all planning

Registered Nurses will be required to travel across metropolitan Melbourne to the various homes and or across regional Victoria.

About You

To be successful in this role you should possess qualifications and experience as specified in the position description including:

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 with minimum 5 years experience and unrestricted work rights
  • Strong clinical experience and understanding and management of complex care needs such as dysphagia, epilepsy, bowel care, diabetes, asthma, medication management and tracheostomy
  • Well developed clinical assessment and care planning skills
  • Commitment to working with Customers, their advocates and Service Delivery teams to ensure client goals aspirations, choices and independence are optimised in all planning and service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train and support staff with clinical activities for clients
  • Previous experience working with clients with disabilities and /or in home care desirable
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
