We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to come and join our wonderful team at Mackay Private Hospital. The team consists of passionate mental health specialists who acknowledge and value the richness that all people of different backgrounds can bring and celebrate the diversity in the workforce.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist wanting to gain experience in an acute inpatient unit supporting and supported by a highly motivated, passionate and dynamic multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant(s) can develop their skills and expertise with scope to design and develop the service. We welcome candidates wishing to utilise specialist skills and we support and encourage the development of expertise in service planning, research, and quality improvement initiatives. The role would be ideal for someone early to mid-level career, someone wishing to change career path directions or for a more experienced clinician wishing to develop advanced specialist skills and consultancy in a supportive and encouraging team environment.
Full time or part time will be considered.
Essential:- Tertiary qualification in Psychology
- Minimum 5 years relevant mental health experience
- Full registration with AHPRA (or eligible for) with a Master’s degree or higher in clinical psychology or other relevant clinical area in Psychology
- Previous group facilitation experience
- Training in any of the following areas TF-CBT, EMDR, CPT, DBT, ACT, CBT, MBCT, Drug & Alcohol
- Experience in working in an inpatient and outpatient environment
- Experience in working with clients presenting with severe and persistent mental health issues and complex needs
- Previous experience in working with veterans and/or current serving defence members
- Experience liaising with senior management and doctors
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously within a team
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to be adaptable, self-motivated and flexible
