Job description

Royal Far West (RFW) Child and Family Services offer comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment, diagnosis, and treatment programs for children with developmental, emotional, disability and behavioural issues. These are specialist services delivered by multidisciplinary teams with expertise in supporting complex families, trauma-informed care, and family-centred practice. The program supports these children and their families by offering services at our centre in Manly or through telecare. We also help families to connect with local services and we liaise with their local schools. Families are also able to access therapy using their NDIS funding.

Job Description

Royal Far West is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our Child and Family Services team in Manly. As a key member of the Child and Family Services department, the Clinical Psychologist will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and their families. **Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for children with a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs.
  • Provide support and guidance to families, empowering them to enhance their child's development and well-being.
  • Deliver therapeutic services through individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities.
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to the overall clinical decision-making process.
  • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives within the Child and Family Services department.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in child psychology to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge care.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Experience in psychological assessment and diagnosis of children of varying ages including administration of Weschler assessments and questionnaires assessing behavioural/social/emotional concerns.
  • Experience providing therapy to children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • The ability to adapt therapeutic interventions and assessment approaches to children with diverse needs.
  • An interest in providing services via telehealth and/or outreach trips to communities, as well as the capacity to work from home.
  • This role has been identified as a ‘Category A employee’ and requires protection against vaccine specified preventable diseases.
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check.
