Position of Role
As the philanthropic arm of the Metro South Hospital (MSH) and Health Service, encompassing the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Campus (Queensland's leading research hospital and largest clinical trials centre), Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital, and Logan Hospital, the PA Research Foundation (PARF) has a long history of funding 'world class’ research into deadly and debilitating disease.
Our home, the PA Hospital Campus, is one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading precincts for medical discoveries housing Australia's most advanced research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research facility to conduct research on human subjects within the main hospital building. Research funding for the Anaesthetic Department is facilitated in partnership with the PARF.
The Anaesthetic Department is actively engaged in Clinical Research and recruits to many multicentre and local studies across most MSH sites. The Anaesthetic Department seeks to recruit an additional full-time Research Coordinator to provide high level research support to the department for a period of 12 months. This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated, and the possibility of extension pursuant to funding outcomes. This role will include screening and recruitment of patients to studies, project and data management and assisting Principal Investigators and Research Manager with ongoing study organization as required.
Organisational Environment
Joining a small team of Research Coordinators and trial clinicians and reporting to the Research Manager and the Deputy Director (Research) of Anaesthetics, the role of the Anaesthetic Research Coordinator is to oversee the day to day running of Clinical Research within the Anaesthetic Departments of PAH, QEII and Logan. This position is primarily based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, however, will also include travel to the other MSH sites.
We are currently recruiting to several multi-centre clinical trials facilitated through the highly successful Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthesia Clinical Trial Network (ANZCA CTN). Within the CTN network, the successful candidate will join over 140 other Anaesthetic Research Coordinators and will gain access to ongoing career development opportunities provided by the dedicated CTN Anaesthetic Research Coordinator Network subcommittee.
