About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking a Clinical Scientist/Diagnostic Genomics Analyst based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane, QLD. This critical role advances our genetic testing capabilities and is responsible for the precise analysis and interpretation of genetic data.

This pivotal role is perfect for those looking to leverage their expertise to enhance diagnostic precision and healthcare outcomes and can be tailored to full-time or part-time hours to suit your lifestyle.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing analysis, variant curation, and interpretation of genomic test results, including tumour Comprehensive Genomic Profiling
  • Reviewing and authorising test results to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Providing expert advice and troubleshooting across our genomic assay portfolio
  • Training Scientists and Genetic Pathology registrars in the analysis of genomic data/results
  • Communicating effectively with both internal and external clinicians and laboratories to enhance collaborative efforts

About You

Ideal candidates will have a PhD in a field related to clinical genomics or hold a relevant fellowship (e.g., FHGSA or RCPA Faculty of Science). 

Additionally, we value candidates with the following background and skills:

  • Experience in diagnostic genomics, particularly with NGS and variant curation in oncology
  • Capability to enhance your technical skills in a practical, diagnostic setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail, efficiency, and strong record-keeping and documentation skills
  • Bioinformatics skills, including scripting, are highly desirable
  • Experience in genetic testing, especially in germline and somatic testing

You should also possess analytical precision, enthusiasm and an innovative mindset making you a perfect fit for our team.

This position offers an opportunity for recent post-docs from a cancer institute or similar academic environment, who are looking to make a significant impact in a clinical environment and transition their career towards practical diagnostic applications.
