• Level 10, from $134,960 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
• Full-time, Fixed-term for three years

The Opportunity

UniSC has established a world class Clinical Trials business unit which builds the region’s collective clinical research capacity and delivers innovative and regionally relevant research in consultation with key stakeholders, including local healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical executives, and other key thought leaders.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of UniSC Clinical Trials on the Sunshine Coast, aligning operations with quality standards, regulations, and guidelines. As a key leader, you'll oversee and support our dedicated Sunshine Coast teams, directly managing Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator, Pharmacy staff, laboratory staff, and and project administrative staff. This position offers a chance to drive impactful research initiatives, connect academia with industry partners, and engage meaningfully with our communities.

You will

• drive operational excellence in clinical trial activities, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence;
• collaborate closely with leadership on strategic planning, financial management, and oversee trial conduct; and
• lead continuous improvement efforts and team performance, engaging stakeholders to promote UniSC’s Clinical Trials Centre within the community.

About you

Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who can lead, manage operations effectively, and think strategically to handle the bustling clinical activities at UniSC Clinical Trials. You'll be the go-to person, providing guidance to our Clinical Study Teams and stakeholders, ensuring smooth study processes from start to finish. You're skilled at creating and executing project plans, aligning priorities with risk management strategies and guidelines. In addition, mentoring abilities create a collaborative environment that supports and encourages team growth.

To be successful you will possess:

• natural leadership and exceptional interpersonal skills to inspire and nurture a positive team environment;
• adaptability, maintaining professionalism, and resilience in ambiguous and high-pressure situations;
• comprehensive understanding and application of ICH/GCP guidelines;
• proficiency in training, motivating, and guiding staff towards achieving operational excellence;
• demonstrated expertise in managing clinical trial projects, including effective resource planning;
• exceptional time management skills, adept at handling multiple competing deadlines;
• efficient delegation skills within teams to optimize performance; and
• strong relationship-building abilities with both internal and external vendors to ensure seamless operations.
