Department
The Pharmacy services operate over 4 sites within Alfred Health and is involved in training interns, undergraduate and overseas research students. Pharmacists are essential members of all clinical teams and have a critical role in patient management. Their understanding of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Medicine Management ensures Alfred Health patients receive the best pharmacy care possible.
The Alfred Health Clinical Trials Pharmacy Service provides quality, efficient and cost-effective investigational drug services across all four of our campuses. The department is based at the Alfred and oversees the quality and governance and financial management of over 300 trials both commercial and local investigator led.
The Clinical Trials Pharmacy plays a key role in the whole Clinical Trials process from ethics submission through to audits and inspections from international regulatory bodies, to clinically screening and reviewing patients in the hospital.
The Role
The expanding number of trials, including expansion in GMO trial activity at the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer centre opening later this year, has led us to look for an additional member of the team.
To succeed as the Clinical Trials Pharmacist at Alfred Health you need to demonstrate:
- Strong computer literacy with analytical and organisational skills
- Relevant clinical skills and knowledge with relevant clinical post-graduate qualifications
- Understanding or experience in the provision of Clinical Trials pharmacy services
- Effective communication skills whilst liaising with service stakeholders
- Strong commitment in patient care
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered pharmacist in Australia
- Relevant post-graduate qualification highly desirable
- Clinical trials pharmacy experience preferred (but not essential) with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in hospital clinical pharmacy services
- Recognition as an ANZCAP resident or registrar, or equivalent, in the specialty of Clinical Trials highly desirable
