About the role:The Child
and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is part of the Goulburn Valley Area
Mental Health Service. The Program provides
Mental Health Services to young people aged 0-18 years of age, along with their carers, supporters and service providers. The CAMHS Clinician is responsible for the provision of
Mental Health care to a defined caseload of children and young people who may be experiencing acute psychological distress and/or complex and severe mental ill health.The clinician will carry out initial
Mental Health assessments and comprehensive developmental
Mental Health assessments, engaging the young person and their carers. The clinician will work in partnership with the young person and carers to develop Recovery Goals. Case Coordination through liaison with external education, health welfare agencies is part of the role, in addition to the provision of relevant evidence based therapeutic interventions.
The successful candidate will have:- Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology
- Registration with AHPRA or Membership of AASW
- Experience in the provision of Mental Health care to children and young people or a willingness to learn
- High level organisational skills.
