What will I be doing?

In this role you'll be responsible for providing hands-on technical expertise in Database Products (Oracle being a primary) and ongoing operational oversight of the Cloud Platforms & databases within Woolworths' Multi Cloud environment. You'll be accountable for seamless service delivery by aiding and removing roadblocks in the Woolworths multi-sourced environment. As the Subject Matter Expert in Databases, you will be heavily involved in support, management, administration and continuous improvement of the database services that run Woolworths's Multi Cloud environments with a primary responsibility of managing Oracle databases followed by other cloud databases.

• Multi cloud implementation, working with various digital and non-digital teams.
• Operational oversight of Azure, Google Cloud Platform and various Cloud & legacy database environments.
• Operational oversight of key supporting services underpinning our cloud database platforms.
• Continuously evaluate the risks present in the Database Estate and come up with a mitigation plan
• Operational oversight of all database platform related services that ensure stability and availability of our strategic roadmaps.
• ITIL service operations responsibility for Woolworths cloud database environments including risk and issue, incident, problem, availability and change management.
• Operational maintenance and smooth running of Woolworths multi cloud database platforms, including continual service improvement.

What will I bring?

• Professional certification and demonstrable technical experience in databases (Oracle, Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server & other Cloud Databases)
• Strong experience with a strong track record in managing large enterprise hosting & databases services that scale on public cloud
• Proven skills in Azure and / or GCP cloud platforms.
• Strong experience in Enterprise Cloud Platform Management or Support
• Good interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills are a must.
• Good analytical skills, the ability to prioritize projects; good oral and written communication skills.
