Our Federal Government Client is seeking an engineer with both administration and development experience in Azure cloud infrastructure. The role centres around build and maintenance of an Azure analytics platform with a particular focus on automation, where you will join a team of experienced analytics Platform Administrators, engineers and developers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the modernisation of an on-premises platform to Azure.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and automate processes using DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), PowerShell and Azure Function Apps
- Maintain and enhance cloud analytics platform functionality to support ETL developers and data engineers in their roles while working with cutting edge technology
- Migrate and modernise processes from an on-premises platform to a cloud-native platform
- Ongoing administration of the cloud analytics platform, maintaining availability and troubleshooting operational issues
- Performing troubleshooting through analysis of code and data to identify issues, and provide resolution
- Working as part of a team to problem solve and build/improve processes and automation
- Reviewing system performance and optimising code, creating/using indexes to improve database performance
- Ensure timely, effective, and transparent communication with the team, Director, broader BAC team members and other stakeholders as required.
Essential criteria
- Strong skills/experience working in an Azure cloud environment including infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform
- Strong skills/experience in using Azure DevOps, particularly as a tool for management of code repos and deployment pipelines
- Strong skills in PowerShell and SQL Server experience
- Competent with cloud storage configuration and maintenance
- Great communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to be a self-starter who uses own initiative
- Experience or familiarity with Azure analytics tooling, e.g. Databricks, Cognitive Services

Location of work: ACT - mix of days in the office and home
Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline
