The Opportunity
You will be part of a team responsible for "automating all the things"; You will extend CI/CD pipelines and build developer productivity tooling in a microservice ecosystem. This opportunity will enable you to delve into the latest technologies, such as Terraform, Docker, AWS and Real-time Collaboration platform whilst working alongside a team of experienced engineers. You will piece together a holistic view of how to build a world-class technology platform.
As the Cloud Platform Lead, you will:
- Oversee the maintenance and optimisation of AWS infrastructure to guarantee system stability, reliability, and security.
- Implement and manage automation using Terraform and Ansible, enhancing maintenance and deployment processes.
- Handle container orchestration using Amazon ECS and EKS, focusing on performance and scalability.
- Direct all aspects of IT security across our Cloud Platforms.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, supporting continuous integration and deployment efficiently and reliably.
- Utilise APM tools like New Relic and AWS CloudWatch for continuous monitoring of applications and infrastructure performance.
- Employ Sentry to monitor and resolve application errors and performance issues, ensuring an optimal user experience.
- Conduct regular updates, security patches, and configurations on Windows and Linux servers.
- Audit and optimise PostgreSQL databases to boost performance and security.
- Develop and update comprehensive documentation covering system procedures, maintenance, and security protocols.
- Lead and mentor a DevOps team, fostering best practices in system maintenance, security, and operational efficiency.
