Join the largest insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.YOUR ROLEAs a Tech Lead, Platform SRE, you will help support the build and roll out of new SRE & Observability capabilities on the Platform. You will leverage cloud-based services to help support our transition to a self-service platform model.You'll work in a cross-functional agile team that consists of Platform Engineers, Technical Product Owners, Platform Architects etc.In this role some of the key responsibilities includes: -
- Lead the implementation of our SRE & Observability Strategy including the design, build and rollout of foundational capabilities to support the business-critical workloads for IAG's Customer Technology Division.
- Leverage your advanced cloud engineering and automation skills to deliver self-service capabilities that meet the needs of our product teams and ensuring that the platform is operationally supportable through the implementation of advanced observability, alerting and monitoring features.
- Participate in the creation and on-going maintenance of Platform Engineering rituals (including standards, processes, documentation, ways of working etc.)
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity through clear communication and thoughtful actions.
- Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing a variety of production workloads on the public cloud through SRE and Observability principles. Ideally, you're familiar with SRE & Observability frameworks to support workloads on the public cloud for services such as Route53, ELB/ALB, EC2, ECS/Fargate, IAM, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Lambda etc. on AWS (our preference) or similar services on GCP.
- Excellent experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deep exposure to containerization and related infrastructure e.g. Docker, Kubernetes etc.
- Excellent knowledge of a wide variety of operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux) and associated programming/scripting languages such as Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, Go, .NET, Bash, SQL, etc.
- Proficiency designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines at scale using tools such as Github, GitLab, BitBucket, Bamboo, ArgoCD, Ansible etc with DevSecOps best practices.
- Proficiency integrating cloud applications run stack including observability, monitoring and alerting (e.g. AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace, NewRelic), open tracing and search tools (e.g. ELK, Grafana, Splunk), advanced knowledge of security tools (e.g. Orca, Prisma Cloud, Tenable) etc.
- Extensive experience participating in complex cloud engineering initiatives (spanning multiple business domains) in a business-critical environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to engage and interact effectively with a range of business stakeholders including technical and non-technical personnel.
- Exposure to a range of contemporary engineering best practices including micro-services, serverless, zero-trust, multi-cloud, secure-by-design, continuous delivery, data engineering etc.
