Data Platform Product Owner / LeadData EngineerSydney, Australia$240,000 + BonusRole Overview:The Azure Data Platform Product Owner is a pivotal role responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our Azure Data Platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving continuous improvement. This role requires a deep understanding of data technologies, customer needs, and market trends.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be accountable for the end-to-end development, running, and evolution of the Azure Data platform.
• Define and communicate the technical strategy and roadmap for the Azure Data Platform in alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
• Manage the backlog and adhere to IT and Data Frameworks, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Own and participate in Scrum ceremonies, promoting continuous improvement.
• Ensure smooth delivery to business stakeholders by collaborating with other teams and managing overall product health.
• Prioritize features, communicate requirements, and develop meaningful relationships with internal and external customers.
• Act as a mentor and role model to your team, sharing feedback effectively and leading the team to success.
• Adapt to changing requirements and apply a standard approach to all tasks and activities.
• Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

• 10+ years of demonstrable experience in Data Engineering pipelines, including 5+ years using Azure data analytics tools.
• Experience with modern lake house architecture on Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of Agile framework with CI/CD using modern DevOps/Data Ops integrated processes.
• Ability to coach and lead a team of Data Engineers.
• Advanced customer relationship skills and ability to communicate business and technical concepts effectively.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail, and formal project management skills are highly regarded.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer/data science or related field, along with relevant certifications.
• Availability, decisiveness, excellent communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and big picture thinking are essential attributes.
