We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect for Data & AI to drive high priority customer initiatives on the Microsoft Azure Platform in collaboration with customers and the Microsoft field. This is a customer facing role, responsible for providing end-to-end technical guidance and expertise.
Responsibilities:
This Cloud Solution Architect role is a deeply technical role, working with our customers to build technical capability, create innovative solutions to their business challenges and uncover new workloads that could be migrated to Azure. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives to drive cloud deployment. This role will own the technical customer engagement including: architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and Proofs of Concepts as well as collaborating with other parts of Microsoft and our partners, always with the Customers’ needs at the heart of everything you do.

- Apply technical knowledge to architect and design solutions that meet business and IT needs, create Data & Analytics roadmaps, drive POCs and MVPs, and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key AI technologies where

- Be the Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Engineering team to remove key blockers and drive product improvements.
- Learn It All - Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the AI technical community while educating customers on Azure platform.

Professional
- Professional Experience. 5+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of Cloud and/or hybrid computing environmentsPreferred
- Relationship Building. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic accounts. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects. Preferred
- Problem Solving. Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies Preferred
- Collaboration and Communication. Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, Administrators and Developers) Preferred
- Business Value: The ability to convey the business need and value of proposed solutions, plans, and risks to stakeholders and decision makers. This includes the ability to persuade and inform based on facts and alignment with goals and strategy Preferred

Whilst we don’t expect our employees to be an expert in everything, we are looking for candidates who have deep knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible:
- Breadth of technical experience and knowledge in foundational security, foundational AI, architecture design, with depth / Subject Matter Expertise in one or more of the following Preferred
- Deep domain expertise in one of the Data-specific areas, such as Azure SQL Data (IaaS/PaaS), deployments and migrations to the cloud, Open-source database deployments and migrations, Cloud Scale Analytics, Data Governance, etc. OR hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level Preferred
- Experience creating Data & Analytics Proof of Concepts (PoC), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for customers that lead to production deployments Preferred
- Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of key Data & Analytics platforms such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, etc Preferred
- Software development practices like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e., Jenkins, Azure Developer Services, GitHub) and container orchestration systems (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Azure Kubernetes Service, GitHub) Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field Preferred
- Certification in one of the following technologies: Cloud Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Networking, Security, cloud-native application architecture (i.e. containers, microservices, API management), modern software development techniques like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e. Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure developer services, GitHub) and container orchestration systems (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Azure Kubernetes Service, GitHub) Preferred
- Certification in one or more of the following programming languages : C++, C#, Java, Node.js, Python Preferred
- Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture position within a software and/or services company such as Amazon, VMware, Google, IBM, Oracle
- Prior work experience with a Microsoft partner or customer
