Our client is a family based sea sports and social club overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean in the northern suburbs. The Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club has an exciting future ahead with the development of the new Ocean Reef Marina and a new clubhouse and they are seeking a charismatic, passionate professional to be confident to step in and continue to oversee the operations, facilities and activities of the club for eight (8) months maternity leave cover with the possibility for extension.
The Role
Reporting to the Management Committee, our Client is seeking a highly dependable Club Manager to confidently lead the team in an energetic and friendly work environment. Keys aspects of this role include overseeing Business Operations, Licensing & Regulations, Marketing & Club Events, Membership, Bar & Kitchen operations, Staffing and Recruitment, Rostering, Finances and Customer Experience. Additionally, you will be actively involved in ensuring that a high level of customer service and club management standards are met.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic customer-focused Club Manager who has exceptional communication and outstanding membership and staff relations skills. Applicants should be a hands-on leader who can work collaboratively with the team to manage all aspects of club functions. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the Club including Bar & Restaurant operations, Administration, Maintenance, Membership and Finances.
- Maintain an effective team culture at all times.
- Ensure a high level of service is provided to members including appropriate two-way feedback and pass along member feedback to the relevant officers.
- Handle conflicts and complaints from members in a confidential, professional manner and follow protocols as per the Club Constitution.
- Observe and ensure compliance with Liquor, Gaming and OH&S laws and regulations, as well as State and Local Government regulations.
- Plan, manage and oversee income and expenditure for all Club events to maximise the use of the Club's facilities by Members and guests.
- Ensure that all Club plant and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Manage procurement and execution of maintenance and improvement projects.
- Ensure work health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Management of compliance with liquor licensing, food safety and workplace heatlh and safety requirements.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in a venue/club management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow the ability to build relationships at multiple levels.
- Knowledge of HR processes and legislation.

- Currently holding an Approved Managers certificate.
