About the role
The main function of the Lathe Technical Lead is to Program and Set CNC Lathes to manufacture components and ensure they are in line with technical drawings and match our customer & quality standards. Provide further accurate feedback and process improvement advice upon finalised products. Lead and monitor a small, motivated team to meet established KPI’s.
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team with CNC Lathe experience.
Duties
- Lead Day shift team
- Program set-up and run of CNC Lathe Machines
- Read and interpret drawings & technical information
- Ensure workspace is kept clean & tidy to uphold safe working environment and meet housekeeping standards.
- Promote quality awareness within the team
- Recognise high production quantity impacts and drive a cost reduction initiative (where possible)
- Compliance to AS9100 Standard
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
Skills & experience
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Defence industry knowledge or experience preferred but not essential
- Strong CNC Lathe skills
- Relevant industry experience or qualifications
- Quality system knowledge / exposure preferred but not essential
- Basic knowledge of Excel and Word
