The Role:
CNC Machine Operator & Workshop Operative
Applicants MUST HAVE previous experience in operating and programming cut files for a flatbed CNC machine.
You need is to be reliable with a positive attitude and a good work ethic.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team.
The job includes but is not limited to some of the key activities listed below:
- Working in a factory environment you will need to read and understand various shop drawings, job packs & orders.
- Using 2D design software you will be required to draw, edit and produce CAD files ready for CNC programming and cutting.
- Be confident to communicate by phone, email and verbally.
- Computer skills: Be able to use both a Mac and a PC.
- You will need to be physically fit and able as this job requires manual lifting of sheet materials both individually and with assistance of a co worker.
- Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth running of production.
- Management of your stock keeping and stock levels.
- Prepare sheet materials for cutting.
- Operating the CNC machine using the files you have created.
- Maintenance of the CNC machine including servicing (*training provided*).
- Unloading of sheets and prepare for assembly staff to work on.
- Quality control at every step.
Other Duties
- General assembly of products using hands, hand tools and power tools and some machinery.
- Pack finished products for safe transit, print & affix shipping labels and layout for pickup.
- Handle deliveries and goods both inward and outward.
- Perform deliveries and collections in our company van.
- Be willing to obtain your forklift license if you don't already have one.
- Ensure that work tools are in good condition & maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
Advantageous Skills
- Extensive Flatbed CNC Machine Experience
- CAD/ CAM background
- Design Skills (both hand drawn and digital)
- Confident using power tools
- Aluminium Mitre Saw Experience
- Manufacturing background.
- Good hand-eye coordination and excellent manual dexterity.
- Strong knowledge of using basic hand tools.
- Precision and accuracy.
- Fork Lift Licence
- Ability to read diagrams, understand dimensions and tolerances.
- Good health and fitness.
- The ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Punctuality.
- Reliability.
- Positive team-oriented attitude with effective communication and a willingness to learn new skills.
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Arts, craft, design background
- Computer Literate (both PC and Mac)
- LED/ Electronics soldering experience.
- Design/ CAD background
- Full Manual Australian Drivers Licence is preferred but not essential
Hours & Salary
We are offering a competitive salary and this is negotiable depending upon your experience.
- This is a full-time position.
- The working week is Monday to Friday.
- Start time is 7:30am - Finish Time 4:00pm
- RDO first Monday of each month
