AddressAustralian Growing Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a CBL (Continuous Blending Line) Operator / Leading Hand on Afternoon Shift. You will play a pivotal role within our production team, contributing significantly to the efficiency, positive culture and safety standards of our manufacturing operations. Operating our state-of-the-art computer-driven continuous blending line, you will be at the forefront of ensuring seamless production processes and high quality output.
Australian Growing Solutions Pty Ltd located at Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula, is a manufacturer of growing media supplying commercial growers and the Nursery Industry.
The hours for this position are Monday to Thursday 1.30pm to 10.00pm with a 30 minute unpaid meal break. The hours on Friday are 11.00am to 5.00pm with no meal break by agreement.
Responsibilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work procedures and adhering to safe practices within a continuous improvement framework.
- Perform essential pre-operation tasks such as calibration and cleaning to ensure proper equipment startup.
- Operate and monitor the Continuous Blending Line (CBL) during production to ensure high-quality output and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Load correct job and verify all fertilizers and raw materials according to Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Maintain effective communication with both internal and external parties involved in the production process.
- Conduct clear and thorough shift handovers to ensure seamless continuity of operations.
- Perform equipment calibration as required.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct quality checks and take samples as per quality control procedures.
- Operate gantry crane efficiently and safely.
- Possess knowledge of computer operations related to the blending line.
- Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and sanitation within the production area.
- In co-ordination with the Production Manager, allocate tasks to staff and supervise their progress.
- Train new staff in all aspects of their employed tasks.
- Document and report any issues that may arise with the Production Manager.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of various high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
- Current forklift licence and front end loader operator licence advantageous.
- Understanding of production procedures and workflows.
- Adherence to Health and Safety regulations and protocols.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities. Ability to lead the Afternoon Shift team.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role effectively.
- Will be subject to a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening.
- Have the right to work in Australia.
