About the Centre/Service Belford Oaks is a quaint community-based centre, adjacent to Victoria Park in leafy Kew. On the smaller side we are a 35-place long day care with integrated funded 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten programs. Belford Oaks proudly holds “Exceeding” status as per the National Quality Standards.
Work Days of the Role Monday to Friday
Hours of Work of the Role 76 hours a Fortnight

- Can capably create and facilitate a meaningful and emerging pedagogy with children under 2.
- Is passionate about children's education and working with infants.
- Has an understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy as well as other philosophies.

- Can lead and support mentee relationships with other educators.

- Uses their initiative.
- Supports lead educators to provide an engaging and emerging pedagogy.
- Can engage in the planning process with lead educators.
- Is capable of implementing meaningful and age-appropriate experiences.
- Is passionate about working with infants and toddlers.
- Working in a Babies Room with 2 other educators and up to 10 children a day.
- Working with the Educators in planning for and implementing experiences.
- Writing learning stories, planning for the children's learning and development, appropriate to their age and abilities.
- Assisting in the daily running and upkeep of the room, undertaking cleaning duties, nappy changing and effective supervision.
- Communicating with the families about the children's day and routines
- Attending monthly staff meetings
- Contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan.

Qualifications Skills and experience:
- Diploma of
Early Childhood Education and Care (at a minimum)
- Experience working with children aged 6 months to 5 years.
- WWCC, First aid, Anaphylaxis and asthma training, CPR
- A working knowledge of the EYLF, VEYLDF, NQS and how to implement them in the planning cycle
- Experience with the planning cycle
