Job description

Yeronga State High School is seeking a Pedagogy Coach who will play a leading role in enriching and embedding our school signature pedagogical practices, the co-curricular and extra-curricular aspects of the student experience at Yeronga State High School. This is a teaching position that enables the successful candidate to work in a team (DP Middle School, HOD Middle School, and EALD coach) to work collaboratively in leading school signature pedagogical practices and share the coordination of student organisations, clubs and groups as well as capturing and promoting opportunities for student learner agency and outside of formal classroom learning in curriculum areas.

The successful candidate will have an ability to demonstrate their capacity to lead and manage diverse teams while work with Year Coordinators, locally known as Learner Agency Mentors and other school leaders to strengthen learner agency in a range of curricular and co-curricular outcomes.

  • Support Faculty HODs with BAAE moderation and quality assure enacted curriculum
  • Support the roll of version 9 AC, incorporating Global Competence
  • Work in a team in supporting teachers in delivering quality learning and teaching through our signature pedagogical practices
  • Activate staff to help lead students to on a range of projects and platforms to promote our commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion for all
  • Sustain partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies and local community groups to advocate learner agency
  • Liaise with other staff managing additional co-curricular learning programs for students from Years 7 to 12 both at and beyond the school
  • Cultivate learner agency in existing and new co-curricular initiatives as referenced and identified by students
  • Work in partnership with other Heads of Department to create opportunities for students to engage with the community in a range of service-learning projects to support the greater Yeronga community
  • Establish the Yeronga State High School Alumni Association and subsequent engagement activities
  • Work with HOD Middle School with Student Leadership/SRC/Interact
