College Archivist

Part-time, Continuing position (3 days per week) 

St Rita's College, located in Clayfield, Brisbane is a leading independent Catholic secondary school currently educating over 1200 girls from Years 5-12. St Rita's College has an outstanding reputation as an inspiring, nurturing educational environment for young women.

For more than ninety years, St Rita’s College has been enriched by the spirituality of the Catholic tradition. Established by the Presentation Sisters in 1926, the College Archivist is responsible for the collection and preservation of our strong College history.

This is a three day per week, term-time position. Regular working days/hours are flexible for the right candidate.

What you'll be doing: 

• Source, collect, document and store archival material in accordance with professional standards and College policy. 
• Oversee the digitisation of the current collection of archival material 
• Contribute to internal, external and online publications and projects to communicate the history and traditions of the College. 
• Support College staff, students and connected Associations with researched information and photographs pertaining to the College's history 

About you:

We are looking for people with:

• Qualifications in archival studies or knowledge and experience within a similar position
• Sound knowledge of archival/record keeping concepts and principles
• Strong attention to detail 
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with members of the community in a warm and professional manner
• Membership of the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) is advantageous
