A little bit about the role…
The Colour/Art Senior Manager will Lead a global team to design and produce market leading Colour/art (yarn dyes and repeats) apparel/hardgoods products. The role is full-time and based in Christchurch. We will support relocation costs for this role. Day to day responsibilities include;
- Direct and ensure the creation and timely execution of colour palette, patterns, prints, and graphics hit all the critical path timelines
- Ensure graphics and yardages are on trend and fits the Kathmandu target customers
- Have a clear understanding of global market trends and ensure they are reflected into the colour and art direction for the season
- Work with Senior design and Head of Design for the seasonally overall trend, print, and color direction for the team
- Work with global development team to elevate execution on artwork techniques, placement, and new ideas for graphics
- Develop strong rapport with cross functional team of seniors and insights team to develop consumer centric POV
- Excellent colour eye and has experience in lightbox and lab dip approvals
- Oversee all freelance, collaborations with artists
- Develop and lead a team of graphic/art designers who will help achieve the division’s financial targets by producing market leading ranges
- Develop & maintain a high level of communication & teamwork with the Head of Design and other seniors
You will have a clear understanding of graphic/art work/Yarn dye designs and development process combined with a strong understanding of market trends. You have been in a senior role within Art in an apparel or product capacity and are knowledgeable in the construction of printing techniques, colour dip approvals, management of tracking documents.
The ability to build and motivate a committed and enthusiastic team is imperative for team and brand success and you will bring management experience to the role.
