Under general direction, the Senior Records Officer is responsible for coordinating, influencing, and supporting the organisation in undertaking effective and efficient Records Management practices in line with business needs and in accordance with statutory requirements and relevant legislation applicable to a Local Government authority.

Award: Level 3 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $77,994.00 to $82,055.00 per annum
ABOUT YOUThe successful candidate will have:
| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |- Well-developed understanding of and ability to source, interpret and apply legislation relating to Records Management.
- High level organisational skills including the ability to plan, prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the development and implementation of Records Management policies and procedures, including the ability to engage and educate users on system usage.
- Strong customer service focus with a well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels.
- Advanced information technology skills relating to a range of applications including Electronic Records Management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- High degree of personal integrity and the ability to be tactful and ensure confidentiality is maintained and demonstrates behaviour aligned with Council’s values.
- High level time management and organisational skills and be self-motivated.
- High level of problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to working in a team or autonomously.
- Records Management qualification (Certificate, Diploma or Degree) or ability to obtain, and/or significant relevant demonstrable experience.
- Possession and maintenance of a Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver Licence.
