About the Role:
Are you a dynamic and outgoing individual with a passion for design, at least three years of experience in a design role, a methodical mindset, and a high attention to detail? We want you to join our ambitious and collaborative team as a Commercial Design Consultant. This onsite role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact and provides exciting pathways for career progression. You'll work under the direction of the Design Manager and Operations Manager, playing a pivotal role in delivering technical product drawings and plans, creative solutions, and marketing expertise to provide outstanding service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the execution of construction drawings, designs, and products for manufacture.
- Produce accurate 2D AutoCAD shop drawings for client approval and production.
- Ensure consistency of drawings with a high level of detail.
- Generate 3D AutoCAD / pCon renders for internal and client presentations.
- Execute space plan proposals for our clients.
- Understand architectural floor plans.
- Research and develop new products.
- Understand the manufacturing techniques and assembly of commercial furniture.
- Provide drafting drawings and specifications to test prototypes.
- Direct and coordinate the fabrication of prototypes.
- Produce product CAD blocks for website and clients as required.
- Provide assistance and support with our showroom, events, and conferences.
- Execute marketing deliverables in conjunction with the Digital and Communications Coordinator.
Essential Skills:
- Thorough understanding of best practices and principles within the Commercial Design space
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong portfolio that showcases your creative process and final designs.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
- Strong visual communication skills in Photoshop / InDesign.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
- Efficient at learning and navigating computer software.
- Takes ownership and initiative.
- A positive can-do attitude and team player.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience using CRM is desirable, but not essential.
