Commercial Handyman

About Us:

TEMA Property Services manages a substantial portfolio of investment properties predominantly located in southeast Queensland comprising commercial, industrial and retail assets. Established in 1987, TEMA is a subsidiary of Morris International and is continuing to grow in the current property market.

The Role:

We require a Handyman to provide a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement services for commercial properties, ensuring the safety and functionality of the premises. Ideally, the candidate will have prior handyman experience and their own tools.

The role will encompass the following responsibilities:

General Maintenance: 

• Preform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing door handles.
• Conduct regular safety checks to identify potential hazards and address them accordingly. 

Repair work: 

• Preform minor carpentry, drywall, and masonry repairs. 
• Repair or replace damaged fixtures, such as doors, windows, and floor coverings. 
• Address plumbing issues, such as unclogging drains and fixing leaks.

Painting:

• Paint interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
• Patch and repair damaged walls and ceilings. 

Grounds Maintenance: 

• Preform basic landscaping tasks, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning trees.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including parking lots, walkways, gutters, and common areas, free of debris and hazards. 
• Repair or replace damaged fencing, gates, and signage. 

Preventative Maintenance:

• Implement a preventative maintenance schedule for commercial properties.
• Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.

Emergency Response: 

• Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies, such as, water leaks, or structural damage.
• Coordinate with property management and tenants to minimize disruption and ensure timely repairs.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in your application you will need to possess the following knowledge, skills, and attributes:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Handyman or similar role.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, repair, and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools. 
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
• Flexibility to work on-call or outside regular business hours as needed.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.  
• Own tools

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position with great working conditions and an attractive salary. The candidate will preferably live on the Gold Coast.
