About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a general Commercial Lawyer with 5+ years PQE to join our rapidly growing team in a front-end commercial transactions role. Whilst the role is based in Melbourne, we will consider applications from anywhere in Australia and New Zealand if you're interested in a move to Melbourne. A relocation package is available to any Australian or New Zealand qualified lawyer.
You will have the opportunity to work with national and international clients and colleagues on a complex and interesting range of matters spanning a wide range of industries and technologies. Dentons' IP&T practice in Australia covers the full range of IP commercialisation and licensing, information technology, supply and distribution, franchising, procurement and privacy work. Most of our work has a significant international component for blue-chip clients.
You will work collaboratively with leading IP&T practitioners in a highly cohesive and friendly team. The practice is growing rapidly and you will have excellent career growth and development opportunities, including the potential to work with colleagues in the Dentons family around the world. You will have direct contact with clients and be mentored by the senior lawyers in the practice.
About You
We are looking for a full-time lawyer with the following capabilities and attributes:
- Experience in transactional commercial contracts, including drafting contracts and licences, assignments, software or franchise agreements;
- Expertise in privacy or technology law or franchising is particularly highly regarded;
- Ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients;
- High attention to detail;
- Highly organised with computer literacy;
- An innovative problem solving mindset with strong research skills;
- Proactive and able to project manage;
- Collaborative and with strong communication skills;
- Commercial.
