We work with clients at all levels of government to deliver an extremely diverse range of logistics solutions - from the distribution of healthcare products, managing the relocation of their employees, delivering fleets of government vehicles, through to helicopter rescue services.We have a new opportunity for a Commercial Lead to play a crucial role in supporting financial and commercial management and executing the strategy of specific contracts in Toll Government and Defence’s Fourth Party Logistics (4PL) business, primarily the Department of Home Affairs Assisted Passage contract.We provide a supportive environment where we want you to collaborate and contribute to achieving great outcomes. This role offers a combination of office and work from home (minimum 3 days in the office).Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with 4PL contract, operational and finance management colleagues to deliver commercial excellence, including timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, reports and insights
- Building robust financial and contract models to support improved commercial outcomes, requiring the ability to incorporate business costs, margins and performance data into customer and subcontractor invoices and reports;
- Participating in contract development, subcontractor and supplier agreement negotiations, risk identification and mitigations in new and on-going programs of work
- Supporting financial forecasting, management and reporting to enable timely and effective decision making to assist senior management
- Participating in strategy development to support achievement of long-term goals and short-term commitments, including continuous improvement across systems, processes and policies
- Supporting other business activities as required across the 4PL business to support improved financial, risk and commercial outcomes, including coaching other team members
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a commercial/contract analyst role with proven experience in business partnering, stakeholder management, and management accounting practices.
- Strategic thinking, analytical capability, planning skills and commercial acumen.
- Confidence working with all organisational levels, both on-line and in person, showing excellent all-round communication skills to liaise with multiple senior internal and external stakeholders across different issues.
- Influencing and negotiating with customers and suppliers to execute agreements, liaising with legal counsel and management while operating under delegations of authority to manage executions.
- Sound accounting knowledge and awareness of risk management methodologies and internal controls
- Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting / commercial management.
- CA/CPA qualified or similar advantageous
