About the Role
Based out of the Loganholme office, the Commercial Manager role is ideal for someone with strong commercial experience, both in pre-and post-contracts with an Industrial Construction focus. To get the best for what this role has to offer it will require a hands-on Commercial Manager, full time present 5 days a week in the office and the ‘trenches’ with the operations teams.
As the Commercial Manager, you will have early oversight of projects requirements right through to completion with ample opportunity to direct your articulate commercial expertise and knowledge throughout the project life cycle. This role will also require high-level coordination and attention by coordinating and implementing a robust commercial strategy including the preparation, execution, and administration of controlled frameworks for each function under their delegation of responsibility.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Model good leadership to inspire direction and delivery, develop people, strengthen commercial acumen and drive change
- Lead, coach and mentor the Commercial functions ensuring the contractual obligations and provision of administration of framework agreements are met
- Contract administration and commercial management responsibility to secure the company’s strategic and commercial positions
- Review and maintain oversight over the contractual obligations of the wider business contracts and agreements and provide advice to senior management as required
- Provide strategic oversight for project management and monitor interdependences across the differentiating Business Units, including liaising with Shares Services
- Provide high-level support and advice to the Senior Leadership Team in portfolio prioritisation, reporting, and tracking
- Facilitate the prioritisation process of projects, scoping workshops, post-implementation reviews and various other project-related workshops.
- Ensure quality assurance and control in the project management system
To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills & experience:
- Minimum 5 years in contract or project management, operations management or related field within the construction or related industry
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business or Law or equivalent
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding, interpretation and application of contract clauses
- Skilled in quantitative and qualitative assessment and development of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
- Extensive experience and demonstrated competency in strategic financial analysis and cost control, project portfolio management, and project scheduling.
- Experience in working with a range of internal stakeholders, including finance, risk, procurement, safety, operations and stakeholder engagement.
- In depth understanding of the Security of Payments Acts (or any superseding legislation) and contract law
- High levels of computer literacy and exceptional attention to detail
- Capacity to be flexible, adaptive, innovative, and capable of multi-dimensional strategic analysis and tasking
